Reclaiming the Ground of Being
Throughout history, human thought systems—religion, science, politics, ideology—have sought to define, categorize, and control reality. As important as this has been, in doing so, they have often negated and distorted ontological truth, separating us from the direct experience of our own being. This suppression is not just an intellectual or philosophical matter; it becomes deeply embodied, affecting our neurobiology, physiology, and existential sense of self.
The Deep Fracture: How Thought Systems Divide Us
From childhood, we are conditioned to rehearse who we are before showing up in the world. We internalize the idea that we must split ourselves—body from soul, intellect from experience, presence from expression. This enforced fragmentation is mirrored at every level:
The Great Divide: Whether in brain function, conceptual discourse, or dogma, we are encouraged to choose one side over the other rather than integrating both.
Objectification of Knowledge: Science, mathematics, and theology help to explain reality, but in doing so, their focus often separates us from the very being they attempt to describe.
The Coup d’État of Consciousness: Power structures thrive on division, demanding conformity and devaluing the reality of uniqueness. In so doing, urging us to fragment ourselves to fit within predefined roles and expectations.
Reclaiming Wholeness: The Body as the Ground of Being
The paradox is that while thought systems attempt to explain reality, our bodies already are reality. The body is not a vessel to be transcended but the very manifestation of ontological truth. It holds the unity that ideologies claim to seek but often obscure.
Integration Over Polarization: Just as the left and right sides of the body must work together for balance, so too must the analytical and experiential aspects of consciousness.
Beyond Rehearsal: We do not need to practice being ourselves. We already exist in fullness. The work is to cease negating that reality and to develop and evolve from wholeness.
No More Splitting: The demand to divide ourselves—whether through ideology, trauma, or conditioning—is an act of self-annihilation. To reclaim consciousness is to refuse to fragment and to reintegrate wherever this has happened.
The Forbidden Wholeness
History is filled with examples of those who embodied this holistic presence and were persecuted for it. The message has been clear: to step into the fullness of the multi-layered self is dangerous. And yet, this wholeness is our birthright. The coup d’état against consciousness has thrived on convincing us that to be whole is to be heretical, to question is to be treacherous, and to embody truth is to invite annihilation.
But the deeper truth is this: the Ground of Being is already here. It is already within us. We are already whole - and compassionately so! The only question is whether we will reclaim it and build from it.
Moving Forward: Wisdom Sailing as an Act of Sovereignty
Wisdom Sailing is about remembering the inner knowing that has always existed, both in ourselves and in others. It is about navigating life, building relationship, and co-creating not from imposed fragmentation but from embodied wholeness.
To stand in the fullness of being is to defy any demand or compliance with fragmentation. But it is also the only way to truly live.
We are not here to split. We are here to sail.
